The Northern Rivers Community Foundation (NRCF) was established in 2004 to connect people who care with local causes that matter to enhance community well-being in the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
For 16 years, NRCF has been helping community organisations make a real and lasting impact in our region, granting a total of over $2.4 million to 143 organisations across 347 projects (as at 30 June 2021).
With the largest footprint of any community foundation in Australia, NRCF covers areas from Tweed to Grafton, encompassing seven local government areas and our regional population of 300,000.
Dedicated to improving the lives of those less fortunate in our community – either from economic circumstances, mental illness, disability, learning difficulties or drug/alcohol addiction – the Foundation broadly operates across five areas: Youth, Disability, Health and Wellbeing, Environment & Conservation and Aged Services.
Community organisations in the Northern Rivers can apply for grants, ranging from $500 to $10,000, from NRCF every year.
